Weekly Wellness: Why I Prioritize Mental Wellness
In today’s society, it’s easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We are constantly being bombarded with new information and tasks, and it can be difficult to keep up. This is why I have made mental wellness a priority in my life. Taking care of my mental wellness has helped me to be more productive, less stressed, and overall happier. Here are some of the things that I have found to be helpful in maintaining my mental wellness.

A Healthy Gut Equals a Healthy Mind
You may not realize it, but your gut health plays a big role in your mental health. In fact, studies have shown that there is a strong connection between the two. This is because your gut contains a lot of bacteria—some good and some bad. The good bacteria help to keep your gut healthy, while the bad bacteria can cause inflammation and other problems. Probiotics are live microorganisms that can help to replenish the good bacteria in your gut. You can find probiotics in supplements, yogurt, and other fermented foods. Phytobiotics are plant-based compounds that also help to promote gut health. Some examples of phytobiotics include fiber, antioxidants, and polyphenols. Making sure you have a balance of probiotics and phytobiotics is important for maintaining a healthy gut—and a healthy mind. Get $10 off my favorite natural nootropic here.

Sleep is Important
Getting enough sleep is crucial for maintaining good mental health. When you don’t get enough sleep, it can affect your mood, energy levels, and ability to think clearly. It can also make you more susceptible to anxiety and depression. Establishing a bedtime routine that includes winding down for 30 minutes before sleep can help you to get the rest you need. During this time, avoid screen time and instead opt for a warm drink or some journaling or meditation. This will help you to relax and prepare for a good night’s sleep.

Regular Exercise Reduces Stress
Exercise is not only good for your physical health—it’s also good for your mental health. Regular exercise has been shown to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression as effectively as antidepressant drugs. So if you’re feeling stressed out, go for a run or take a yoga class—you’ll be doing your mind and body a favor! You can do 21 days of Yoga with me for only $33

Taking care of your mental health is important for overall wellbeing. There are many simple things that you can do to maintain your mental wellness, such as getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, eating probiotic-rich foods, and spending time outdoors in nature. By making mental wellness a priority in your life, you will reap the benefits of improved mood, decreased stress levels, increased productivity, and more!
